C22 A Confrontation in the Darkness(1)

Reg slowly walked past them. Luh Weier followed closely behind him. She could also feel the heat and evilness in these people's eyes. She didn't dare to turn her head and follow Reg through the passageway.

After going up the stairs, Reg's vigilant heart finally relaxed a little. There were two Fighters on the table and a mage. He didn't know how strong they were, but if they really fought, the place would be narrow. It was quite troublesome. After all, Luh Weier was just an ordinary girl. She did not know magic and did not know how to fight.

When he was about to step into the passage upstairs, Reg turned his head as if he had sensed something. He looked at the table again. The three people on the table were all looking at him. Especially the man with a gloomy face, who was looking at him with disdain. The man looked back at him and reached out his hand. He cut across the front of his throat and made a neck wiping gesture.

Reg's eyes narrowed, and his pupils suddenly contracted. He clenched his fist tightly, and just as he was hesitating whether or not he should respond, a soft little hand grabbed Reg's hand.

Reg turned his head and saw Luh Weier holding his hand. He said softly, "Don't fight with them."

Reg took a deep breath and turned his head under the provocative eyes of the gloomy man opposite him. He nodded and said, "En, sleep early at night. Remember to close the doors and windows."

Luh Weier nodded obediently. The two of them ignored the different gazes behind them. They continued to walk forward. The shop owner who led the way also heaved a sigh of relief. Having opened the shop here for so long, his eyes were naturally sharp. Although the young man in front of them was wearing plain clothes, he looked like a bumpkin, but his eyes and temperament showed that he was not an ordinary person.

He also had a black ring on his hand. It was probably a Space Ring. Perhaps it was a Fighter or a mage. If they fought here, wouldn't the shop be demolished by them?

When he came to the door of his residence, he looked at the two adjacent rooms. Reg looked at them and said, "Boss, which room does the table of people live in?"

The boss naturally knew who Reg was asking. He pointed to the front and said, "The second room from your room."

Reg nodded to indicate that he understood. He turned around and said to Luh Weier, "You sleep in the room inside. I sleep in this room..."

Only now did Luh Weier know that she had been thinking too much. Her face could not help but turn red. However, listening to Reg ask the shop owner about the room he was assigned to, looking at the two sides, Luh Weier immediately understood the meaning of Reg asking first before dividing the room. Her eyes were filled with gratitude.

The table was near the outside. If one wanted to go to Luh Weier's room, they would have to pass by Reg's room first. Reg letting his room inside was obviously to protect himself.

"Thank you..."

Luh Weier originally thought that she could not practice combat power or magic, but thinking about what she had experienced in the past few days, she could not help but feel bitter in her heart.

Reg did not understand what Luh Weier was thinking. He just thought that it might not be so peaceful tonight. There were some things that he could not tolerate even if he had to.

"You are welcome. I promised Uncle Lang that I will send you safely. I will definitely do it."

Seeing Luh Weier enter his room, Reg also entered his room. After that, the shop assistant brought hot water and Reg took a simple bath. After letting the shop assistant collect the water, he sat cross-legged on the bed and took out the huge sword Uncle Lang gave him from the Space Ring. He placed it at the most convenient position beside him and then closed his eyes slightly.

There was a soft sound of water coming from next door. It seemed that Luh Weier was also bathing. The sound of cups and plates coming from downstairs could be vaguely heard. It was obvious that the people drinking downstairs were still continuing. Not everyone was like Reg and Luh Weier. After eating, they entered the room early.

Time passed bit by bit. Reg was like an old monk in meditation, motionless. The noise gradually quieted down. People returned to their rooms one after another, and the rest stop was very quiet again.

After an unknown period of time, a soft sound of the door opening was heard, and the sound of light footsteps could be heard in the walkway.

The footsteps approached slowly. Recently, they stopped at the door of Reg's room. The people at the door seemed to be hesitating and took a few steps back, but in the end, they still walked over and knocked on the door gently.

Reg's eyes had been opened ever since he heard the sound of the door opening. When he heard the knocking on the door, a strange expression appeared on Reg's face.

After hesitating for a moment, Reg stood up and walked to the door and directly opened it.

The person standing at the door was not the gloomy man Reg was worried about, but the timid Luh Weier.

Reg looked at Luh Weier, who had her hands twisted together. She looked very uneasy. He frowned and asked in a low voice, "It's so late. Why aren't you sleeping?"

Luh Weier twisted her fingers and said anxiously, "Sorry... I, I can't sleep. Can you let me in?"
